UELA Summer Volunteer + Picnic
Come volunteer and picnic with Urban Environmentalists LA on Sunday July 27th. We’ll be volunteering with Monarch Heroes - Watering & Weeding at the LA State Historic Park from 9am-11:30am. Then we’ll picnic in the park (grabbing food from Nick's Cafe across the street). Come for both, or just join at the park to hang out with us. If you’re interested, please RSVP here so we know to expect you! If you want to volunteer, be sure to fill this volunteer waiver: CA State Parks - Special Projects Volunteer Waiver.

After the Fires: Housing and Climate Resilience Meetup
Come join us this Thursday, May 1st, for a discussion with our friends at Westside for Everyone about housing and climate resiliency. In the wake of the devastating Palisades and Altadena wildfires, it is more crucial than ever for us to explore how we can build a safe, fair, and more affordable California.

LA Climate Week: Join or Die Film Screening
The Los Angeles Neighborhood Council Sustainability Alliance, Urban Environmentalists LA, and the Westside Urban Forum are coming together to host this screening of Join or Die during LA Climate Week because it speaks to our present circumstances, with both climate action and democracy itself at a critical juncture. What can we do as local organizations to strengthen democracy and bolster our commitment to a healthy environment, despite unprecedented headwinds?
Join or Die is a film about why you should join a club—and why the fate of America depends on it. In this feature documentary, follow the half-century story of America's civic unraveling through the journey of legendary social scientist Robert Putnam, whose groundbreaking "Bowling Alone" research into America's decades-long decline in community connections could hold the answers to our democracy's present crisis.
Order of Events:
